Youth Programs at Mountain View United Church

Joyland (Sunday School) for Prekindergarten to Grade 6 is held on Sunday mornings during the service. Following the Time for Children, the children go downstairs to Sunday School. There they experience Bible stories, crafts, games, music, and science activities that illustrate the transformation that takes place when we live an active life with God.

Nursery – A Nursery room is provided for the use of parents with children who are 3 and under.

Book Club meets on the last Monday of each month at 1:30 PM in the Boardroom. Lively discussions are held on books which are chosen by the members of the group. New participants are always welcome.

The Scrapbooking Group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday from 9:00 AM until noon in the Boardroom. Members of this group share card making and scrapbooking ideas as well as work on a specific project each week. Anyone interested in scrapbooking or card making is welcome to attend.

The Prayer Shawl ministry is one in which people prayerfully knit or crochet a shawl or small afghan which is then presented to someone who is celebrating a joyful occasion like the birth of a child, or who may be ill, grieving, or going through a difficult time.  It is one way that we can share God’s love with them and assure them of our support.

United Church Women (UCW)

Mountain View United has two active UCW groups to which any woman of the congregation may belong. The UCW purpose is to unite the women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which they may express their loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship, and service. The UCW groups provide support for a number of local, national, and international initiatives.

Deborah Unit meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month. The current leader is Barbara McGill.

Esther Unit meets every third Monday April to June and September to December. Current leaders are Debbie Ellison and Joan MacLeod.
